Packing Packing Packing

It's so hard, to say goodbye.... This is the first photo Kyle and I ever took together in San Francisco. So strange to think we won't go to Chow for dinner, (the restaurant we took this in), or decided if it will be indian, tacos, or Frijtz (belgian style fries and other food). We have our goto staples in our mission/duboce triangle area that we like going to if we haven't made dinner.

Kyle has already started digitizing all of our DVDs. We currently have 1/2 a wall of boxes. Mostly of DVD and "packing plushies." Meaning these are soft toys being used as packing material. We have a LOT of toys. I hope we still have boxes for most of them.

I've sorted some of my clothes for donations, but if I leave them out, our cats have decided they want to be IN the bags and they push all the contents out. I think they know we are moving. http://catoncats.tumblr.com/post/36926051367/kittiespacking

Most of our bedroom "stuff" is packed away. It's already looking so sad. So empty. I'm going to miss this apartment.

Just added a clock so you can countdown the days till we move to Amsterdam.

So crazy that by next month we will officially be strangers in a strange land. Well not too strange. The only change my be understanding dutch and getting used to colder/wetter weather. I've been recently packing things recently and getting slightly emotional saying things like:
"Goodbye, (insert object, location, etc here), I will miss you." If it is an object I usually stare at it a bit. If it is an object I am packing away to store here in the States, then I put it in a box and quickly tape it up. I currently have a "maybe" pile of things to take/ship with us. It's getting harder and harder to decide what is going and what isn't.
How do you decide what is important enough to bring? I am not talking about personal items/clothes and etc. I am talking about things that define your space. As an artist, I am inspired by things around me and I use it as reference.
Further, I have so many supplies as well. I used to work at home and I have tons of supplies from prototyping maquettes, toys, custom clothing and etc. I am going to miss my endless bins of fabric.
*sigh*
In happier news I hope to see as many of you before we go. Coffee, lunch, mini party... you know where I am and I will try to meet you where you are.
Happy Holidays for now! Stay warm and safe!
xoxo
